sneaky kid...

it seems that lately gani and mila have been struggling for alpha status in the house. i've been having to watch their interactions more closely now, because on several occasions, i've caught gani harrassing mila to the point that she will fight back with either a push of the nose or a slight growl. scary, yes, but i understand a lot of it is just instinct playing itself out, for both baby and dog.

yesterday, gani was determined to established his status as alpha kid. when i cook or wash dishes, gani always likes to kick it at my feet and play in the cupboard that holds random things like soy sauce and popcorn. since jr is in china for a week, we've put mila's food and water bowl on the floor next to the cupboard. gani likes to squat down and point in fascination as mila eats, but we always remind him never to touch her while she's eating because she can get protective and could possibly snap.

so i had my back turned and was chopping up mila's food, when i hear "glug glug glug..." it was the sound of liquid pouring. i turn to look, and gani had opened a bottle of vinegar and poured the entire thing into mila's water bowl. he wasn't even laughing. it seemed like he was intentionally trying to poison her. mila just stood and watched, and after smelling the vinegar, immediately left the kitchen and watched us from the doorway as i told gani it wasn't a nice thing to do. then maybe fifteen minutes later, after i had put mila's food into her bowl, gani comes into the living room with one piece of dog food in each hand. he shows it to me by holding it up and saying "eh, eh, eh..." (because he knows he's not supposed to touch it), and then throws it to the ground. i tell him "no", pick up the pieces and go to the kitchen to return it to mila's bowl and what do i find? the letter "I" magnet smack in the middle of mila's food dish. i fell out laughing. it was like zorro left his "Z" after an attack. hilarious.

more new pictures to come, i swear.
