look at the bowl cut on this dome! man, i guess all filipino kids must have the bowl cut sometime in their lives, and now is the time for gani's. lola cut his hair again about a month ago, to mama and papa's dismay (to say it kindly). so now it's just a matter of either letting it grow out or shaving it into some weird style. tita melanie wants a mohawk, which might be interesting, but knowing that under all that hair lies a skull that is flat on the right side, i hesitate to do it.

on another note, we went to a giants game last night for free. jr gets tickets through aim high summer program, and we got to see them play from the most top section, in the very last row. what was funny was when were climbing to our seats, all you hear is "perci! perci! coach p! coach p!" from kids all around us. sorry, super star. because perci worked with aim high last year, there were about a hundred thousand of his students spread out among the two sections of the stadium. it was also funny to see some of our old students from the middle school program we used to work for. they're so old now, they look different, and their response to gani is, "you guys have a kid?!"
my attempt at an artsy photo

"i wear my stunna glasses at night..."

and another crime update... we installed a sensor light on the side of our house to deter more break-ins. the next night, jr caught a guy rummaging through his truck. with the damn sensor light on... bright as day. nice to know it's working.

man! our camry got broken into the other night. in our driveway even. so far, there's been five robberies of people walking through our neighborhood, and car break-in after break-in. our next door neighbor's car stereo was also stolen from their driveway, perci's entire truck was wiped out, two doors down (with the older woman who got mugged in the middle of the day and i had to call 911 because i heard the whole thing happen), well her daughter's car window was smashed and stuff was taken too. luckily for us, they didn't take anything. just rummaged through. what, you don't want my $11 stroller from target? what about the dora the explorer bouncy ball, huh? what kind of man are you that you don't want to take the orange cones in the trunk that we use for kick ball? or my moldy banig? not good enough for ya? i'm offended.

on another note, i need help with creating titles for each posting. how do i do it? is there some kind of secret squirrel html code i don't know about? share your expertise, please!

my sistah, my sistah...

my newest craigslist find. this guy was selling this original painting on craigslist. once i saw it, i was like, "i don't care how much this is. i must have it." so i e-mailed the guy, and his response was $499. oh hell no. i love my sisters, but i can see them in person for that much. so i was sad, and lost hope. then i noticed that he kept posting it over and over again, and maybe a week later, he was asking $150. so i called him, and negotiated a price (which i cannot disclose because if perci ever found out, he'd murder me) and now it's mine!

the only problem is that it's HUGE! i couldn't even fit it in the car, so i had to wait on the street while perci drove all the way out to the marina to pick me and the painting up (you know, by where gani had his b-day party last year).
but once it got home, it fit perfectly on the wall.

i love this painting because i like to imagine that it's me, armi and melon when we were little. and sometimes i like to imagine that it's jackie, jillian and joie a few years from now, although, the smallest one seems to remind me of jill. i have to do some serious repair to it... fix the frame and spray a sealant on it so no more damage occurs. but i absolutely love it. and no one understands why. gani saw it hanging up, and pointed to it making "sour face". jr says it's scary, and perci's afraid he's going to come into the room one night and the girls will be turned around. boys.... they just don't understand what it means to be a sister.

"you know, di pirs time i saw you, i krash you."

we just came back from the funnest few days in west covina. while it was over 90 degrees, the heat was so welcomed by us fog-cursed folk. that meant swimming, running around in panties only, and for gani, eating lots of watermelon. (ha! didja catch that?)

after a horrible drive down (we're going to have to get used to it, now that gani won't be able to fly free soon), we finally reached home at 4 am. then after that, it was one big blur of swimming, eating, sun, family and more eating. gani's co-sin baby chamina's post has some great pictures and a hilarious synopsis of our trip to the beach. we're so looking forward to our coastal trip down in august and spending three weeks there.

in the first day there, gani learned how to say (actually scream) "LOLO!". lolo became his favorite buddy throughout the weekend, and would wake up every morning screaming for him. when we drove back up, gani had fallen asleep in the car, and stayed asleep until morning, so when he woke up, he looked around and started yelling, "LOLO!!!" he was probably thinking, how the hell did i get back here?! and where is everyone?! we miss everyone so so much.

me: "party of fourteen, please"
hostess: "four-teen?! oh, alright. twenty minutes."
