thanks, global warming, for allowing us to freeze in the snow AND scorch in the blazing sun all in the same season.
i was uploading pics from the MLK parade and from our day excursion to arrowhead and remembered how incredibly init MLK day was and how frozen we were in the snow.
for long beach's MLK parade, almost every school, community group, neighborhood association, church, organization and elected official have an entry in the parade. mama walked with her work (which made the front page of the press telegram, but no pictures, sadly) in hot sweatshirts. and isagani was picked to ride in the car for his school's entry.

after the parade, chameans and tee joined us for the celebration, where we ate funnel cake and this delicious pineapple slurpee concoction that gave us brain freeze. it was a fuuun day.speaking of freeze, here are the pictures of our turnaround trip to arrowhead. i think the day started off like this...
gani: you know, i don't think i've ever seen snow before.
mama: yeah you have! you just don't remember. (please refer to this post)
gani: it's not raining. can we go to the snow?
mama: OK!
and within 2 hours, we swooped up marley and made the quick trip to arrowhead.

we left after only about an hour because of inadequately dressing and preparing our kid. so we hit up the nearest place to find hot cocoa at the request of the little people.
