we've come a long way since build a bear and chuck e. cheese. happy birthday, jackie! 12 going on 23. the party was perfect. patrillo's pizza-- the best pizza on earth and take that from the woman whose job requires for her to eat pizza once a week-- cherry, chocolate cream and apple pie, coffee, wine, mom's salad and even helicopters and bats hovering over head just to make it interesting!

i remember jackie's birthday in the san gabriel apartment where i attempted to buy her a little mermaid ice cream cake and it melted in my lap on the way over. she didn't care. she was 2. if that happened now, jackie would take the cake, slam my face in it in disgust and command jillian to wipe up the mess. harsh crowd!

just kidding. jackie would never do that. she'd say politely, "thanks nina" and make jokes about the cake for the next 2 weeks.

maybe 10 years from now i'll write another blog about jackie's 22nd birthday, reminiscing about her 12th birthday. and how the fires were blazing but we partied it up anyway. and we'd laugh about how jeremy, mel and i could only communicate using facebook and lacked the ability to converse face-to-face.

all the while, jackie's got tickets to the jonas brothers reunion tour and cruise.

and talk about how krista had swine flu that night.

and what our plans were for julian and alejandra's wedding.

and we'd wonder how moses, mary and briana made it into almost every picture in this blog post.

man, it's late. happy birthday, pretty girl! nina loves you.

OH MY GOSH. HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jackie!! Quacklin Jacklin! =) How you have grown up!! =) You are a beautiful, bright & snarky young lady. What a great post Beans. =)
Holy MOly!!! You almost had me crying here at work!!!! I 'heart' this post forever and ever!
Also, Jackie's 2nd birthday at the apartment was the first time i brought Manny around to the family. Her birthday is the marking of "us".
Wow! That is the best post ever!! Thank you so much for being the one to photograph the memories because her mother is too inept to get out the camera and document when her little baby turned 12. The pictures and commentary are awesome! It's funny how everyone remembers different things about special times. And you totally reminded me of the melted mermaid cake. The cake could've been soup, and she would have still loved it cuz it came from you. And just for the record, I don't remember looking as good as she does when I was 12! Stinker!
